who who? color, that is who!

I love color, a lot. I will buy something just for the color alone and I will buy multiples of something to have a selection of colors. I think the way color is used together or by itself can boost the design greatly and can express a clear message for the piece. These pieces not only explore imagery but explore color and it's potential. I love exploring color and throughout my pieces of work on this blog, I think you will see how I use colors in different ways.

This was one of my favorite assignments in Graphic Design. We designed for a real orphanage in Haiti. This project and its cause became a part of me. These were made into back to back flash cards to provide information on the orphans in Haiti.

I have so great a passion for art that sometimes I think I am going to burst. I became this way first as a photographer who wanted to scrapbook artistically those images I photographed. Scrapbooking allowed me to express outwardly what my brain was thinking. From there, many steps led me to where I am today, a graduate in Graphic Design. I have a great understanding of how to use different pieces, design principles, textures, found objects, color, imagery, paper, patterns cohesively in one piece of design or a series. Because I have been a scrapbook artist for many years I have knowledge in the many ways a sketch or idea can work into a final design. This selection of my work is just a small portion of what I can do and how I think. My style is eclectic, vintage, antique, urban, shabby chic, but can also be sweet, simple, cutesy and classy. Also, this body of work is to show you that I have an understanding of color, design, style, edge, a creative thought process and a love for designing and everything that comes with it.
